When Beginning Feels Hard

Beginning is hard.
It’s hard putting yourself out there—because your vision to help others isn’t just a business, a nonprofit, or a ministry.
It’s a piece of your heart.
It’s a piece of you.
And, what if it fails?
What if no one likes it?
What if no one sees the value in it?
What does that say about your vision?
And worse—what does that say about you?
Or maybe it’s hard to begin because the vision is big.
So big you wonder: Can I even do this?
Do I know what I’m doing?
Or maybe you’re waiting. Waiting for the perfect time.
When all your ducks are in a row, your confidence is at 100%, and you finally feel “ready.”
I’ve been there.
And honestly—sometimes I still feel there, even though my vision, Just Clear and Simple, is already in motion.
Because sometimes the hardest part of beginning isn’t what’s happening around us.
It’s what’s happening within us.
But one day, I made this quiet decision in my heart:
Though I don’t know what’s ahead, I’m doing this. I’m bringing this vision to life.
I refuse to sit by the sidelines. I refuse to still be at the starting line next year—talking about what I want to do, but not actually doing it.
I’d rather begin—shaky, scared, unsure—than stay here.
And I’m letting go—I let go of the pressure to make it all happen. I let go of the idea that I have to carry the success of this vision on my own.
And God, I’ll obey what You’re leading me to do—in this moment, in this season, at this beginning.
And I’ll trust You with the rest.
Because if He truly gave me this vision…
If He’s saying, “It’s time to begin,” then it’s time.
Because:
His Word will not return void.
“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11, NIV)
It is He who gives me the power to be successful.
“Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.” (Deuteronomy 8:18, NLT)
He will equip me with what I need.
May he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him.” (Hebrews 13:21, NLT)
And no matter how things unfold, I’ll always be able to say:
God, I obeyed You.
When God places a vision in our hearts like a vision that helps others, it’s more than just our idea. It’s His work, moving through us.
When the vision becomes more than what we want to do—something that would be good to do— but that "God is directing me to do this", something changes.
We find the confidence to begin. We find the strength to keep going.
And when we surrender the outcome—the “what will happen”—it becomes easier to take the first step.
And the path forward gets clearer.
Because the Bible says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6 NKJV)
Will you take the step?
That’s all you need to begin: a step.
Not a leap. Not a master plan. Just a step.
And when you step out, He steps out with you.
And He stays with you.
When you obey, you never walk alone.
Keep stepping with Him, and before you know it—you’re not at the start line anymore.
You’re no longer just talking about the vision.
You’re walking in it.
